Q: Where do you get your design inspiration?

A: There are four members of the SoLA team. Three are based in LA and one is currently in Miami. We all come from different cultural backgrounds ranging from Jamaican, Chinese, African American, Mexican, British and Australian. Our culturally diverse team members all bring their own style and flair to the table that help inspire our designs. We’ve all traveled to the fashion capitals which has definitely exposed us to the exotic styles of the world. We are excited to bring these styles back and reinvent them into fresh, bold, and timeless pieces. Los Angeles is a cultural melting pot that endlessly inspires our designs. There are rock stars, heiresses, divas and boho chic styles on every street. Our pieces offer a little something for every style.

Q: What is the concept behind the jewelry?

A: Two of the members whom are sisters, began the company after people would compliment their exotic jewelry and clothing items that they would design and wear out around LA and Paris. Our pieces reflect the delicate and intricate designs derived from Egyptian and Arabic jewelry.

Q: What are your goals as a designer?

A: Our goal is to build a sustainable brand not a one hit wonder. We want to continue to design and make high quality, exotic, hand made jewelry. We want our customers to feel amazing in every piece.

Q: How would you define the style of your line?

A: Indian, Arabic, Egyptian, All American Goddess. There is something for everyone. We plan to add simple everyday pieces to our line so you can wear SoLA everyday.

Q: What matters to you most as a fashion designer?

A: Stick to what you do best. Be on the pulse yet don’t fall for trends. Always provide your customers with the best quality jewelry that makes them feel fabulous every time they wear a piece. Be open, inspiration can come from anywhere.

Q: Where do you see your brand in the future?

A: We have recently added shoulder pieces and intricate body pieces to our line. As much as we want to stay in our own lane, we are always open to expanding our brand to other areas of fashion and design in the future.
